Fall 2012

Projects:

Ch 10, pt 1:

Section 10.4, Due date: Wed, 5 Sep 2012

Ch 6:

Section 6.4, Due date: Fri, 14 Sep 2012
When this project asks you to use a "computer algebra system" you can use WolframAlpha, a fancy calculator, or some other means. The idea is not to calculate all of these integrals by hand (although you should be able to do all of them this way), but to notice a pattern in similar integrals.

Ch 7:

Everyone must complete this project:

Section 7.2, Due date: Fri, 28 Sep 2012

For extra credit, you may choose to complete one or two of the following projects. These will be graded a "little bit" harder since they are extra credit:

Section 7.4: Shortest arc length gets (up to) 3 points, the rest can get up to 2.5. Make sure you show all work in your arc length calculation. Due date: Fri, 12 Oct 2012
Here is my entry into the competition. See if you can beat me.

Section 7.5: Like baseball? Like math? Do this! Due date: Fri, 12 Oct 2012

Section 7.6: What goes up must come down. Due date: Fri, 12 Oct 2012

Ch 8:

Choose up to two of the following:

Section 8.1, Due date: Mon, 22 Oct 2012

Section 8.7, Due date: Fri, 9 Nov 2012

Section 8.8, Due date: Wed, 5 Dec 2012
