General education issues and perspective course.Studies the development of mathematics from antiquity to modern times. Solves problems using the methods of the historical period in which they arose. Requires mathematical skills. Prerequisite: Math. 511 and two additional courses at the 500 level or above, with C or better in each.

Studies Euclidean geometry from an advanced point of view. Prerequisite: Math. 344 with C or better or departmental consent.
