factor the left side
take square roots
subtract 1 from both sides
also by quad form...
By completing the square:
is called the discrimate:
if the disc. is positive then the (two) answers will be real
if the disc. is negitive then the answers will be complex (they will have i's in them)
if the disc. is zero then there is only one answer ( )
