"Stability and Energy Minimality for Capillary Surfaces"

Abstract:
A capillary surface is typically defined as a stationary point for a certain energy functional. It is natural to ask whether a given capillary surface is actually a local energy minimum, in some sense. I will discuss some general results on stability and minimality, and apply them to the specific case of capillary surfaces.
