Some recent existence results for Kahler-Einstein metrics with singularities along a divisor will be discussed, with particular emphasis on some interesting new analytic phenomena which arise in the solution. These phenomena are closely related to some more well-known behavior for semilinear elliptic problems with critical exponents. A survey of the background geometry will be provided.
Please join us for refreshments before the lecture at 2:30p.m. in room 353 Jabara Hall.
