Abstract:
It is a result of classical function theory that a conformal self-mapping of
a plane domain which fixes three distinct points is the identity mapping.
The purpose of the talk is to put this theorem into a geometrically natural
context, and to extend it to higher-dimensional domains and manifolds. The
main results of the talk have been obtained in collaboration with K.-T. Kim,
S. Krantz, and D. Ma.
Please join us for refreshments before the lecture at 2:30p.m. in room 353 Jabara Hall.
