Abstract:
In 1909 Alfred Haar introduced into analysis a remarkable system which bears his name. Some properties of the Haar system is better than of the trigonometric system. It has many applications in analysis. The following themes will be discussed in my talk: 1. Basic properties of the Haar system. 2. The unconditionality of the Haar system. 3. The Paley function. 4. Fourier-Haar coefficients. 5. Multipliers.
